This is based upon our extensive knowledge of the field and on close co-operation with expert groups at various scientific institutions. We are an independent manufacturer and are therefore able to choose the best components available on the market for our products.
Coming from the research field ourselves, we have a lot of experience in optical oximetry, especially near infrared spectroscopy. Our highly portable and multichannel NIRS devices can be used to monitor oxygen supply non-invasively in both brain and muscle tissue. Besides NIRS, we create gold standard x-ray phantoms for quality control in mammography and radiology. 

Artinis Medical Systems was founded in 2002 by Dr. Willy Colier and Roeland van der Burght, Msc. Dr. Willy Colier started his scientific career in the late ’80 and is worldwide recognized as one of the top NIRS researchers. Roeland van der Burght has an engineering background and works for more than 25 years with medical devices, in 2001 he finished the Executive MBA course at the University of Enschede.  We work closely together with the University Medical Center Nijmegen in the Netherlands, but also with other Universities in various countries. Therefore, we know what is important to our customers and can focus on what really matters.
