CDMAM 3.4 & Analyser

Gold Standard Mammographic Contrast-Detail Phantom.

Features

The CDMAM 3.4 is the quality control phantom for evaluation of imaging performance of analog and digital mammography system. The CDMAM 3.4 phantom is considered to be the world gold standard and is described in the European Protocol for quality assurance in Digital Mammography and other protocols for routine and acceptance testing. In mammography it is essential that objects with very small contrast and diameter can be distinguished. The quality of the technical aspects of the mammography equipment should be monitored at regular time-intervals. The CDMAM 3.4 and its image analysis software are specially designed for this task.

Applications

  • Optimization and evaluation of digital and analog mammography systems

  • Determination of the optimum exposure technique comparison of image quality at various thicknesses of PMMA

  • Comparison of image quality with various film screen combinations

  • Determination of the optimum background density

  • Comparison of different mammography systems

CDmam 3.4 ANALYsER SOFTWARE

The CDMAM 3.4 image analyser software version 2.3 is using the current methodology for analysis of the CDMAM 3.4 images according to the supplement to the European Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Breast Cancer Screening and Diagnosis. The program makes use of CDCOM, which is developed by EUREF for independent, reliable image analysis.

Software features

  • Fast, objective Image Evaluation

  • Multiple groups with images to compare over period changes

  • Batch analysis of many images

  • Automatic Report Generation

  • Shows in between results (score diagram, psychometric curves, individual CD curves)

  • IQFInverse scores and Total detected (%) number of gold discs are shown

  • Drag and drop images to the software

  • Images can be viewed and inspected by zooming in

Image evaluation method

  • Accumulate the results of the automatic EUREF readout software CDCOM

  • Determine the psychometric curves

  • Detect the threshold thickness of the different diameters

  • Correct to human readout values

  • Calculate the contrast detail (CD)
